🚤 Mercer Vacation Rentals — Rental Policy

1. General Requirements

  • Renter Age: Must be at least 18 years old with a valid government-issued ID and a major credit card.

  • Boating License: Required if born after January 1, 1989, per Wisconsin DNR regulations.  License can be obtained at https://www.boat-ed.com

  • Orientation: All renters must watch the applicable safety and operations overview video available at www.mercervacationrentals.com before departure.

2. Rental Inclusions

  • All Boats:

  • Full tank of fuel (Call Tim at 920-5701347 for additional gas)

  • Required safety equipment (life jackets, whistle, fire extinguisher, first aid kit)

  • Fish Locators, GPS Mapping System, Power Trim, Electric Start, Paddle, Dip Net, Rod Storage, Anchor, ropes, and bumpers

  • Fishing Boats:

  • Livewell, Basic Tackle Storage, and Bow Mounted Trolling Motors

  • Pontoon Boats:

  • Bose Sound System, Bimini Top, Swim Ladder

3. Rental Duration & Hours

  • Multi-Day Rentals begin at 9am of your first day and end at 6pm of your last day.

  • Late returns will be charged additional fees.

4. Payment & Security Deposit

  • Full payment is required at time of reservation.

5. Damage & Liability

  • Renters are responsible for any damage to the boat, motor, or equipment during the rental period.

  • Prop damage, grounding, or excessive interior messes will result in additional charges.

6. Safety Rules

  • No alcohol consumption by the driver.

  • Maximum capacity must be followed at all times.

  • All children under age 13 must wear a life jacket when on board.

7. Cancellations & Weather Policy

Standard Cancellations:

  • 90% refund if cancelled 21 days or more before reservation.

  • 50% refund if cancelled 14 days before reservation.

  • No refund if cancelled 7 days  before reservation.

Weather-Related:

  • Bad weather happens, and Mercer Vacation Rentals cannot guarantee good weather for your entire rental.

  • 50% refund may possibly be granted if Mercer Vacation Rentals determines the weather is unsafe (lightning, high winds, storms) for the majority of your rental.

  • Overcast or light rain is not grounds for cancellation.

8. Prohibited Activities

  • Operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol

  • Leaving the boat unattended at remote areas or unapproved docks

  • Pets are allowed only on the floor of the boats, No pets shall be allowed on the seats.

9. Cleaning Fee

  • Renters must remove trash and personal items. Excessive mess will incur an additional fee.

10. Check-In / Check-Out

  • Arrive on time or early:  If we have to wait more than 15 minutes for you to arrive, we will begin charging you an additional fee for our time.  If you are more than an hour late, we will move on to our next task and we will take care of you when it is your turn.

  • Boats will be inspected before and after rental
